RCR was awarded a contract to overhaul boilers & auxiliary equipment at AGL’s Torrens power station in South Australia.
The first outage was in March 2015, followed by a second in March 2016. The contract schedule runs for 3 years (+ 2 optional).
RCR has had a long association with this facility. All contracts to date have been under Alliance models which have delivered savings to the client and improved reliability of units.
A total labour force of 95 were directly employed, completing 44,850 hours over the ten weeks of the outage. Both outages were completed on time and under budget, with a successful return to service.
Scope included boiler pressure parts, NDT & survey, valve overhauls and vessel inspections, as well as boiler auxiliary equipment including as pumps, fans, air heaters & gas valves.
